Welcome to the Wild Oats Ranch Horse Rescue Blog Site

Here it is, the first week of December 2011- winter is nearly upon us. Our horse friends at Wild Oats are growing their pyjamas to keep them warm. Our little Appaloosa, Bailey was recently adopted by a wonderful family who plan to enter him in shows when he is trained. From what I hear, he is fitting in and is bonding well to his new "mom", Katie. As much as I miss him, I am so happy for both Bailey and Katie and hope for a long and loving partnership.
Our newest rescue, "Hughey", is a black, 2 1/2 year old mustang, quarter horse cross gelding. He is green broke-been ridden while being led. He is a really sweet boy- very friendly and has fit into the rest of the herd very well. He leads well and picks up his feet. Check out my website - new pictures of him will be on tomorrow. Gem, Fleecy,Moon, and Shal-o-Mar are still awaiting new and forever loving homes too.
If you would like to have a horse and are not able at this time, consider taking part in the care of a rescue horse, or in saving a horse from going to slaughter, by sponsoring a horse through a donation.
Your comments are welcomed. Looking forward to hearing from you !
